About Us

Since meeting in Ann Arbor, Eleanor and Max have lived a nomadic existence, moving between five apartments in two cities in seven years. Though they are both economists, Eleanor has more fully embraced the dismal science by choosing to study tax; Max, after watching The Wire, found his métier in crime. As a demonstration of his commitment, Max has visited Eleanor's family in Fargo, ND each December. At a low point during graduate school, Eleanor and Max adopted a feline companion. Though he rose to power democratically, LBJ subsequently consolidated his influence: he has annexed a reclining chair, shows no regard for privacy, and is a nudist. Upon completing his Ph.D., Max secured his dream job working to reduce gun violence in Chicago. First LBJ, and then Eleanor, joined him there. Later this year, all three will move to New York City.

Like the Allies at Yalta, Eleanor and Max convened on the remote Japanese island of Iriomote (population: 2,347) to decide a plan for their future affairs: marriage (eventually). They marked the occasion using the engagement ring offered by Eleanor's great-grandfather Max to her great-grandmother Eleanor. Now they would like to celebrate their commitment together with you.

Celebrating with us at our wedding? That's the best gift of all. Having lived together for the last few years, we have all the household goods we need, and more than can fit in a New York apartment. If you'd still like to make a gift, consider contributing to our Mediterranean honeymoon adventure this December or, better still, making a donation in our names to The New York Immigration Coalition or The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City, two organizations that provide resources to individuals who may not enjoy the generous and loving support we do.
